10:52 PM; Project R.I.C.E
Been doing Project R.I.C.E. for the weekends last week & this week. Today's the last day for the project!!!
Last Saturday: distributing flyers & doing flag day door by door.
Last Sunday: I was excuse as there's sufficient manpower.
Yesterday: collect rice from some blocks in the Hougang area, the area where they were informed through flyers & packed rice after that.
Today: give out the rice to the beneficiaries.
The job's is tiring yet fun. Challenging enough to make me excited actually.
As I heard from Mei Xian, 1 of the ICs & a friend & the one who introduce me this project that all of us actually collected 40,715 kg of rice instead of the expected 30,000kg!!! It's like so much!!!
However, the saddening thing is that there's like so little people down there doing the job... Especially them, it was just a maybe that they didn't come but in the end, they didn't come at all... What a dissapointment... And now, I can differentiate who I can choose to work with and who not to work with... Obviously that there's some bonds of friendships are meant to be broken...
After all, it's meaningful, challenging, tiring and fun.
